Challenge Bathurst 24-27 November 2022
Challenge Bathurst is an exclusive opportunity to drive your own street car or track racing car on the famous Mount Panorama Racing Circuit this November.
With the most exhilarating 6.2km of bitumen on the planet open for your speeding enjoyment, you won't want to miss your chance to see what motor sport legends rave about.
The Origins of an Icon
In the early 1930’s then Bathurst Mayor Martin Griffin, set in motion the idea of a Tourist Drive weaving its way through the Bald Hills overlooking the township. Hand dug during the recession, the road was destined to be more than just a route to a picturesque park and look out.
In 1937 the Light Car Club of New South Wales put forward to Mayor Griffin and the rest of the Bathurst City Council their aims for a racing circuit:
- It had to be spectacular so the public would pay to watch;
- There had to be balanced technical hazards to test every feature of the car, and
- As often as possible, the circuit should be a test of the driver’s skills.
The Everest of Driving
Climbers to Everest, drivers to Bathurst; it’s the unrivalled challenge that draws the elite from all over the world.
The exclusivity of a no limits drive on Mount Panorama is beyond compare in motor sport.
There’s been some great circuits designed and built around the world, but what makes Bathurst unique is its inherent unpredictable nature and the sheer drama of its physicality - blind corners, sudden gradient changes and the fastest corner in touring car racing in the world. A drive that’s equally daunting and exhilarating.
Being open for racing on so few occasions every year, there’s no such thing as getting in plenty of practice on this 6.2 km pinnacle of motor sport.
If life is the sum of your experiences, do something that you’ll always remember and live life to the full.
